Omg guys!
I’m so excited to tell you that I’ve just submitted my first “self-tape” audition ever. I’m super nervous but incredibly excited. I’m auditioning for the main role which is not what I went for originally. I saw the posting for a new production so I sent the film producer an email.
He responded back the same day asking for me to audition for the main character named “Riley.” I was super shocked because the email I sent I was stating that I’m just starting out as an actress with no credits to my name but I’m eager to work and learn in whatever role he needs even as an extra because I just want the experience.
I felt very intimidated and of course that doubt came back like you’ve never done a self tape, you wouldn’t even know where to start and there are probably plenty of other actors trying out for the same role. I put it off. I put off my audition and studying because I felt like maybe I wasn’t good enough then I had to ask myself the same question again, “How bad do you want this?”
So I got up this morning and went to work going over my lines over and over, taping over and over and I also did some quick research on how to look and sound your best for your “self tape.” I just submitted the video less than 20 minutes ago so now I’m just waiting to hear back. I’m so proud of myself even if I don’t get the main role, I did something completely scary and out of my comfort zone but I was very happy with how the video turned out and that’s what counts. Wish me luck!
Well here is the end of another short and sweet post. I just wanted to tell you guys what happened today since I did promise to keep you guys updated in my attempt to enter the film industry. If I get the okay to post my audition, I may share the tape with you guys as well.
Until next time.
Xo,

Nina.
