Lessons in Hollywood

So, I’m keeping this post very brief..

My update for you guys: I just had an interview so hopeful I will be starting my new job next week, *fingers crossed*!

I had one of the most emotionally-intense weeks that I’ve ever had. I’m still wrapping my brain around everything that happened. I didn’t sleep or eat much for several days. I was applying to jobs like crazy and towards the end of the week I was feeling burn out. Perhaps I should start at the beginning.

I responded to an ad I saw and paid for a program and at first it seemed like the right move for me and I was getting so much information at once and I started to feel overstimulated. It seemed like the answer to my prayers when it came to understanding the industry more and having more insight on how to get ahead. It seemed like it was worth the money.

Fast-forward, I ended up signing up for another one of their programs that cost way more and at the time I hadn’t fully considered the commitment since the previous night I hadn’t slept. Things started to take a turn for the worst and I had to consider the legitimacy of the program because of the break down of the situation. I wasn’t able to access the material right away after paying. I had to start questioning things. Why was I paying so much? Why am I not getting more information about this new program? Why am I being asked to pay more in such a short time period? And when I started to consider more factors it made sense that this wasn’t the ideal situation and after researching the program more it might not be legitimate.

Thankfully I was able to speak with my amazing attorney and legal team and was advised on the best way to proceed forward and I was able to remain professional and get all of my money refunded back to me. The lesson has been learned to throughly read through contracts, research companies but always, absolutely always, have your legal team read your contract before you agree to sign anything!

I am so blessed that the situation worked out in my favor but I know I have to be more careful in the future especially as I get closer to Hollywood and the entertainment industry.

Until next time,

Nina
