Welcome to my online diary. A place where I share my personal life as I follow my dreams. Make sure to follow. It’s gonna be a bumpy and hilarious ride.

Touring KC

So last weekend was pretty action packed. We started off at Crown Center which believe it or not I have never been. We didn’t spend a lot of time there we honestly just went there to eat. I looked around a little just to see what the place was like but who doesn’t want a good meal to fill you up before you do a ton of walking and exploring? We ended up eating Indian food 🥘 and I was a happy girl cause I had been craving it for a hot minute. We enjoyed ourselves and I had to take pictures of the sign cause y’all know I love me some neon lights!

Then we took a tour of the Veterans Memorial another spot that I’ve never been. It was very beautiful. It’s funny all the places that seem like “hidden gems” of KC that I never knew about honestly because no one ever took the time to tell me or show me what made Kansas City great or important so I appreciate that my boyfriend is willing to show me now.

Next on the tour was Union Station. I must say the building structure alone is beyond gorgeous. I couldn’t take enough pictures. As we wandered further down the corridor we started to hear music and we saw these beautiful models in gorgeous dresses and realized they were having a photo shoot right inside of Union Station. My boyfriend also told me they host concerts and balls; I thought how cool.

We read about the train station and how it came about and they actually had model trains for you to view. It was very cool. It could see why this was one of Michael’s favorite places to go as a kid. I think I work have loved to go to Union Station as well. The good news is now we get to create new memories together.

Our final stop and this one was a complete surprise. Now my boyfriend doesn’t know this but since I was a kid I had always wanted to find a place like this. I had seen it in the movies and he had mentioned there was such a place to me once and I must have light up and he remembered so he told me that’s where we were going at the end of the tour and I was beyond excited. Now some of you may think really? This is what you were excited about? And I will say yes and you want to know why? Because there is something so freeing when people cut loose of inhibitions and do something a little crazy every now and then it is so freeing. And speaking from experience as someone who was sheltered my whole life I plan to continue living my life doing things that make me feel the most alive even if it seems a little crazy or impractical to other people. That being said…he took me to this shoe tree where people toss their shoes off their feet like they are casting away their cares. And what makes this place that much more sacred is the location is very hard to find. It’s not on any map. It’s mostly by word of mouth or you have to do some serious digging online to find it. But it was so peaceful being there. I enjoyed every moment and no I didn’t toss my shoes. Maybe next time 😉.

Until next time.

Nina
