So I went to my first carnival with my boyfriend on Saturday and we had a good time. There was so much to do. I had no idea that Liberty even hosted Carnivals. From the fried foods, to the face painting, rides, and live music, they made sure it was action packed enough that you could spend your whole day there if you wanted to.
Our first stop was to get some food cause it took me a little bit longer to get ready and it was a little bit of a drive for us so we were hungry. We ended up getting Philly cheese steaks which er had been craving for a while. They were really good. Had to stop and get some candid photos of course!
Then we stopped to get caricatures done of ourselves. They turned out pretty good I just think the coloring was a little off. These pictures were something Michael really wanted so I wanted to make sure we had them done and at the end of the day as long as he is happy with them that’s what matters. I think we are cute no matter what. We honestly talked about it last night and laughed. We’ve encountered so many interesting things since we started dating and deciding whether or not it could have been racially motivated. This was an older lady so who’s to say what her intentions were. It seems like she struggled to figure out what color to use for me and maybe in the moment she realized what she needs to work on if she wants to stay in her industry. She needs to have more color options available for every skin tone.
We ended the night with a carnival game, funnel cake and jamming out to an awesome band. My handsome man also bought me a new bracelet. All and all a wonderful night. One thing I truly love about my man is that he takes note to what I say and really tries to make sure he takes me to places he knows I’ve never been but says I’ve always wanted to go. I mentioned the carnival to him one time literally months ago. I think it was when we first started dating and he remembered that and decided then he was gonna take me. That shows me I chose the right partner and I’m so grateful for him.
