It’s been a trying couple of weeks in light of everything that’s been happening. I’ve been doing what I can to stay informed on what’s happening in the world.
I can’t say I’m surprised at this election or the behavior shift I’ve witnessed at my place of work ever since. I don’t think I’m built for any job long term anymore. I’m meant to gain experience to grow and eventually build my own empire. I think I’ve always known that I’ve just lacked the resources to do that but I’m slowly moving in that direction.
I’ve had some new blessings to kick start this new year and I’m so grateful for those. I got to see this new movie, “One of Them Days.” Issa Rae did her thing with this movie. She does not miss with her awesome writing and directing. The movie is starring Keke Palmer and SZA.
When I tell you the theater stayed roaring with laughter from beginning to end, that movie was top tier. It was black girl magic. It was everything I needed. Especially right now with all the craziness happening in the world. And it was great to see LA the way I remembered it when I lived there in my short time.
I hope this movie is like chicken soup for the black people that come across the film. Yes anybody can enjoy but especially, I want US to be encouraged during this time and to not shift into fear mode. Idk what is going to happen from here but I refuse to lower my head because I know who I am. I am damn proud of my skin. I won’t let anyone take that from me.
