We made in to 2021 and its already had a very interesting start. This year is flying by. It’s March, like what? I’ve been thinking a lot about posting again so here I am. Somehow its so much easier to be vulnerable online. So I will tell you guys what has been going on the past few months.

If you’ve been following my journey for some time, you know that I moved to California last year around August 2020. I’ve had a lot of great adventures so far despite the limitations of the pandemic. I’ve gone to the beach, been to a few roof top parties, clubs, and I was in a music video. I wore a mask during all of this to be safe. The past 3-4 months I’ve been staying inside mostly unless I was working my temp jobs.

I was live streaming from Sep 2020 to the end of Jan 2021. I unfortunately didn’t have as much success when I signed a contact with an agency. When I streamed solo I was able to accumulate over 700+ fans in a matter of 2 months. Nearly 5 months in, I could barely break in 500+ fans. Competition may have become stiff but it just seemed so much harder than it should have been. I never give up on anything easily but I believe it was Einstein that said (paraphrasing) insanity is re-trying the same thing expecting a different income. So yeah, the dream hasn’t changed but the approach has.

I’ve been in quarantine for about a month and I’m finally free again. Getting corona virus is no joke. I was in so much pain. There was an issue with payment regarding my agency and I did my best to resolve that issue and tie up all loose ends before moving to the quarantine house. I wasn’t checking my email until my last week before I moved back into my house, and I had received a really horrible accusatory email. Long story short, I informed 4 different people in the agency and platform that I was sick and would stop streaming until I recovered and the information was not passed along. Some other things happened but for legal reasons, I wont get too specific. Let’s just say the lost a great client.

Now that I finally have another laptop, I can write more often. I had to book computer time in the past or tried to write on my phone which made me super unmotivated. On a more positive note, I’m working on new music. Something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’m hoping to get at least one song released around April. If you are interested in hearing any of music I am on SoundCloud. Look me up as “Nina Maroon.” Most of my music sound like demos but I’m working with a great producer to put out studio quality music in the future. There’s nothing like music.

One more thing. How could I forget?! I started my first official YouTube Channel, “Nina Maroon”. I will start filming episode 1 hopefully in another week or so. My first video is just an intro to me getting on YouTube. Had I not gotten sick there would be a new video, no matter it will be coming soon. Well that’s all I have for you at the moment. Wish me luck and stayed tuned for part II of the Quarantine Queen Chronicles. I will be so happy once this pandemic is fully over and I can explore California.
Until next time,

Xo,
Nina
